Storacell Powerpax Battery Caddies Review

Storacell Powerpax Battery Caddy

I hate loose batteries.

They roll around in your pack making it harder to find the actual item you are looking for, and then when you do need a battery, you are unsure of whether or not the one you found is a fresh one or a dead one that you responsibly put back in your pack for the trip home. Of course, you irresponsibly left it in your pack for a month to cause you trouble later, but that is a different story.

I eyeballed these Storacell battery caddies for a while on Amazon before buying them. Honestly, they seem a tad on the expensive side, but ultimately I pulled the trigger. I purchased the high visibility yellow in the twelve packs for our house, and the smaller tactical green four packs for my pack, in both AA and AAA.

The batteries push out of the bottom easily.

These caddies are well constructed and are easy to load and unload. The only drawback I can see is that they are exposed, should your pack get wet. My Maxpedition Volta battery pouch came with a case that enclosed the batteries, but it certainly isn’t water proof either. I will review that pouch soon.

Although I would like these to be a little cheaper, I am considering buying a few more for our C and D cell batteries. You can never be “too” organized.

With these battery caddies deployed, be warned, a loose battery is a dead battery. Now if I can just remember to empty my pack and put them in the trash as soon as I get home…
